Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the program

What is the language of instruction?

The program is taught entirely in English. For clinical immersions in China, simultaneous interpretation is fully provided. All course materials are written in English and include key TCM terminology in both Pinyin and Chinese characters.

Do I need prior TCM experience?

No prior experience in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is required. The program is specifically designed for medical doctors and healthcare professionals from all backgrounds. Our approach is divided into 2 phases: master the core foundations of TCM, then progressively advance to complex clinical applications.

How is the two-year program structured?

Year 1: Foundations & Core Modules (Modules 1–4). Master theoretical foundations and diagnostic methods through a flexible hybrid format, combining online learning with in-person sessions in Switzerland. You will complete the first four modules during this year.

Year 2: Clinical Immersion & Advanced Practice (Modules 5–7). Deepen your clinical skills with hands-on clinical immersion in Hefei, China, while completing the final three modules and your capstone integrative protocol.

How is the clinical immersion and practical training structured?

Year 1: Two 15-day blocks. Begin with practical clinical training alongside Master Kiu in Switzerland, followed by a 15-day clinical rotation in China at the end of the year.

Year 2: An intensive 3-week residency in Hefei, Anhui Province, dedicated to advanced practice within our affiliated hospitals, networking with institutional partners, and your graduation ceremony.

By the end of the program, you will have completed a total of 7 weeks of intensive practical training — one week of clinical practice per module.

How can I obtain detailed information about the tuition fees?

Please submit a request through our Contact Us section, and our admissions team will gladly send you the complete financial breakdown and payment options.

Will I receive an internationally recognized diploma?

Graduates receive a joint diploma issued by GICMI and Anhui Medical University, aligned with the WHO framework for traditional and complementary medicine.

What are the application requirements and registration process?

Candidates must hold a medical degree (MD, DO, ND, or equivalent) and demonstrate professional English proficiency. A motivation letter and a brief interview complete the application.

Does this program qualify for CME or CPD credits?

This program is currently undergoing accreditation for Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits. These qualifications depend on your country of origin and its specific medical board. We will email you the official accreditation certificates as soon as they are finalized, which you can submit to your local regulatory authority.

Can I continue practicing during the program?

Yes — the curriculum is intentionally designed for working physicians. Most modules combine intensive on-site sessions with self-paced study between blocks.

How will the examinations be conducted?

Each module concludes with a quiz, which must be passed before proceeding to the next module. The program culminates in a final, 50-page research manuscript on a specialized TCM topic of your choice.
